I've been for a Sunday morning swim, read your lovely non woke sermon and now I'm about to have roast beef with all the trimmings washed down with sticky toffee pudding and custard. I have a lot to be thankful for regardless of all the muppets who govern us. Have a lovely day🌞.
The wee stuff really is the big stuff. In the book, The Artist's Way, Julia Cameron sets out an exercise called The Morning Pages. to my mind, it's the most powerful tool in the whole book. Simply writing down your thoughts, fears, hopes, dreams and gratitude every morning is the best way I've come across to sharpen your focus and clear you head.
Thanks, really good advice. According to my GP, Vitamin D supplements are also crucial to keeping our mood up and we should all be taking 2000 units a day. It's the sunshine vitamin 😎
Thank you. I would like to add...do with relationships what your brain synapses naturally do, namely reinforce good ones that work for you and cut bad ones that don't.
Beautiful post. I would also like to share journaling! Journaling your thoughts, feelings, events in your life and how they've affected you whatever you want! Make yourself your primary source of study. I've grown so much since journaling and studying myself.
Re expectations: if you can learn to just let go of them, good or bad, it helps. (I had to do this - a life of auditions means one hell of a lot of smashed dreams if you don't.) If I catch myself deciding in advance what something or someone will be like, I try to replace it with "Hey, who knows what will happrn? Surprise me, life!" It often does. 🙂
Dominic I find it very difficult to listen to your podcast. Why? I’ve opened a Substack account btw. I’m not a paid subscriber. I’ve been trying to listen to it on my iPhone.
How to be happy
Learn to fall in love with nature
Embrace the seasons with gusto!
(If you like pina coladas,... and gettin caught in the rain)😉
Change your expectation for appreciation
Everyday above the grass is a good day
Then you will be happy!😃👍

This is splendid Dominic - immediately shared with my family.

Can't disagree with any of that. Good stuff!

From my own experience, I couldn't agree more.
Common sense and keeping it simple works every time (and for pretty much everything, not just health!).
Nice one Dom.
Simple and sensible advice. Love it. Thanks
Just heard you on the Lawrence Fox podcast. That was really good too.

Really good piece Dom. Loved it.
